The house and grounds are beautiful, tranquil and as soon as I sat outside... with my tea and homemade scone which we received on arrival... I just felt the weight of my everyday hectic lift and I could just sit and breathe. Lynn and Alan were so welcoming, the breakfast was amazing and the choice was better than any I've seen anywhere else. Although the house was set deep in Dalby forest it was central for all the trips and visits we planned. I highly recommend High Dalby House.
This is an absolute gem of a place to stay. The setting is beautifully peaceful and the house itself is so welcoming and comfortable. Ian & Linda are perfect of hosts and we can't wait to go back.
An amazing location as a retreat in the middle of the forest - perfect for feeling away from it all. Accommodation is well appointed and comfortable and the hosts, who were in the main house separate from the cottage in which we stayed were quite lovely - hospitable and accessible but never intrusive. You couldn't fail to feel the peace in the atmosphere around a beautifully themed garden with lots of places to sit, relax and reflect. Highly recommend :)
We were in the Kingfisher Cottage. It was spacious and very comfortable. We opted for breakfast in the main house there was a good choice of fresh food very well presented and cooked. The hosts were very pleasant and understanding. The view from the conservatory was to die for!

High Dalby House is a very special place, and a wonderful setting, in the middle of the forest, for a fantastic break. Ian and Linda are incredible hosts; they have thought of every little detail, and their house is a very welcoming space. Breakfast was always excellent, with a range of choices. Our room was lovely, Fountains, with fabulous decor and a luxury bathroom. The grounds and gardens are extraordinary; we walked around for about an hour and there was so much to take in. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return! Such a lovely place!
High Dalby House brings together comfort of a quality venue with the deeper focus of a retreat centre which we found enriching. Besides the quiet reflective chapel the vision of the Trinity garden and the stimulating narrative that accompanies the labyrinth was wonderful to discover. There has been so much creative thought into making High Dalby into an ideal venue set within a wonderful forest location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Rooms were spacious, clean and comfy. I did not realise on booking that the bathrooms would be separate rooms opposite the bedroom, but they were spacious, clean and the shower had great water pressure. Breakfast was lovely and cooked to order b
